MusiciansWe are a music-loving community here in the Oceanside Region of Vancouver Island. Parksville and area boasts many professional musicians who have chosen to make the area home while they continue to play all over the world. Lucky for us, they also play a lot at home, too.
P-ART-Y on the Drive is pleased to host six stages, all running musical acts throughout the entire festival. We have assembled a broad range of talented people to show our diversity in genres and demographics. From soothing sounds to moving rhythms and from classical to jazz, Parksville's Resort Drive Community is so honoured to have this caliber of performance to share with you at P-ART-Y on the Drive-bringing art and music together in nature.
This local classic rock duo puts out the sound of a full band. Paul and Jess have been entertaining at weddings, dances, birthday parties, pubs and festivals on Vancouver Island and across Canada. People of all ages enjoy the hits they play - oldies but goldies, classic rock and a little modern day pop. They've got songs to get you dancing - from CCR, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, REM, Cold Play, Jason Mraz, Adele and much more. The duo also plays popular background music with intricate picking and great harmonies for ceremony or dinner events.
For a sneak preview of their music, visit their website to see videos of them playing live and a sample song list. www.paulandjessrock.com
Here's what people have been saying about them-
"Paul and Jess rocked our 40th birthday party! Their music was amazing. Our guests had a blast." Sue and Steve Staios, former NHL hockey player for the Canucks and Oilers.
"I couldn't leave the dance floor all evening. I highly recommend them." Susana Michaelis, 60th Birthday Party. Owner of the Green Store Nanaimo.
For over 7 years, this local group has had people dancing and singing along with their great array of much-loved cover tunes. The set list ranges from classic rockabilly (Stray Cats, Joan Jett), to 80's rock (Poison, Guns n' Roses, Colin James), to modern pop (Pink, Black Eyed Peas, Young the Giant, Megan Traynor), and newer rock (Elle King, The Struts, Jimmy Eats World), and everything in between!
Each song has been deconstructed and arranged specifically for the band's sound. As diverse as the set list may seem at first, all of the songs flow as a danceable, familiar, cohesive experience, with something for every age to enjoy.
Some songs are given a respectful, authentic re-creation, while others are treated to a creative license that churns out a sound unique to Train Wreck.
Each band member brings in a different type of music genre that makes the bands unique blend of Country Rock, Blues, Folk Rock and a sprinkle of Canadian immortal tunes.
It's hard to stand still when listening to this Band perform!
Our club?s name was derived from a Merle Haggard tune called Rainbow Stew. The original 3 dancers enjoyed the routine and named the club after graduating with the now coveted rainbow shoelaces. Thus, the RAINBOW STEW CLOGGERS.
Our satisfaction lies in dancing fun, great exercise and most of all friendship and camaraderie. It?s especially gratifying for us to ?give back? to our communities as we demonstrate our spirited dance activity at seniors? lodges and entertain at street festivals and fairs in our area.
Rainbow Stew Cloggers are members in good standing with the Canadian Square and Round Dance Society and the BC Square and Round Dance Federation and hold a yearly Certificate of Performing Right Licence for Musical Works in Repertoire of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada.
