Parksville's Resort Drive Community Farmers' Market
Parksville, Qualicum Beach and surrounding area is abundant with local food and we want to showcase it at Vancouver Island's largest street party.
Locally grown food is the healthiest food we can buy and it is the most delicious. Because it is so naturally tasty, preparation is minimal and that cuts down on the cooking effort. Add into the mix that local food doesn't need to travel miles and miles to get to us and we know that is just good for our environment.
Perhaps one of the most important reasons for supporting Farmers' Markets is that the more we support our farmers and food producers, the more they can grow for us. That's a win-win for us all!
Local farmers and food producers will be setting up shop at one of our resorts so visitors to the P-ART-Y can pick up local delicacies for dinner. What a great food day! Lunch at one of our many local Food Trucks followed by a local food dinner!
What's your pleasure? Locally made sausage? Fresh picked berries? Hand-crafted cheeses on top of artisan bread paired with Vancouver Island wine? Pastries made with all the artistic flair imaginable? Not to mention all that healthy produce.
Yes, if it's on your menu, Oceanside's food producers make it with love and pride.
Check back often to find out who will be attending our new Farmers' Market and what they will be selling. Be sure to bring your shopping bags and let's celebrate art, music and FOOD in nature!

Ocean Pearl Soap Company
We work out of our Nanoose Bay Studio taking pride in the small handcrafted artisan batches of soap and body products that we create having spent over 20 years perfecting our line.
The owner of Ocean Pearl Soap Company, Diane Koch, has brought the art of soapmaking to both children and adults through seminars and classes, including the Whistler Children's Art Festival, the City of Nanaimo Parks & Recreation department and private parties.
We are a member of the Nanoose Bay Studio Tour, an amazing group of artists and artisans who open their studios to the public several times a year.
Ocean Pearl Soap Company is open by chance or by appointment. Either drive by and take a chance or email/phone ahead for an appointment. Bring a friend, enjoy the drive and the view!

Nanoose Edibles Farm
Nanoose Edibles Farm produce is available year-round at their farm market, through their community supported agriculture box program, and at resorts and restaurants in the region and on the west coast. The farm raises environmental awareness by teaching garden skills workshops, researching appropriate equipment for small farms and offering farm tours. More effort is being spent in the selection of highly nutritious produce, fruits as well as vegetable crops. With the changes in climate and the changing demographics of our Island Home, the farm is constantly searching out new varieties of vegetables and fruits that are better suited to the farm and Vancouver Island?s variable conditions. Improvements in selection of vegetable varieties and extending the growing season are continuing goals of the farm. In order to encourage our citizens to consider growing more of their own food, this year on a larger scale we are offering a Family U-pick on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays each week. This will enable local families to become familiar with crops that grow well in the region.
